One person died and three remain hospitalized Saturday after a fire broke out in a Trenton row home during the early morning hours, authorities said.
The Trenton Fire Department received the call at 2:25 a.m. that four people were trapped inside the two-story home on the 200 block of Cass Street, according to a department official.
Once firefighters were able to rescue the people in the building, they were taken to the hospital.
Three of the residents were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where they remain in unknown condition, according to the fire department. The fourth was taken to Capital Health Medical Center and later died as result of their injuries.
The fire was under control by 3:45 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Red Cross was also brought in to assist the displaced family.
