Authorities ID man executed in Applebee's restaurant

LAWRENCE — Authorities have recognized the person who was shot within the head at an Applebee’s right here early Tuesday as 23-yr-previous Devin Smith, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Workplace stated Tuesday.

Smith, of Lawrence, was shot behind his head at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday whereas he was sitting on the bar of the chain restaurant on Route 1 north, the workplace stated.

The gunman was described as a male in his mid 20s who fled the property in a darkish-coloured sport-utility car.

Authorities consider Smith was focused. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, the workplace stated in a press release stated. 

On social media, mourners have been tagging Smith’s Fb web page, the place he glided by “Devin Dynomite Smith.”

“We provide our condolences to the household of these impacted. The security and safety of our visitors and group members is paramount,” Melissa Hariri, a spokeswoman for Applebee’s stated.

“The native franchisee is absolutely cooperating with authorities on the investigation, and any additional inquiries must be directed to the native police division.”
