Man charged in death of Good Samaritan who tried to stop domestic dispute


HAMILTON — A South Jersey man has been charged with aggravated manslaughter after allegedly punching a fifty four-yr-previous Good Samaritan making an attempt to cease an assault at a bus cease earlier this month, officers stated.

Calvin Wiggins was beating his girlfriend alongside Route forty when passerby John Charlton exited his car and informed the 24-yr-previous to cease, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Workplace stated in a press release.

Wiggins then punched Charlton, inflicting the older man to hit his head on the bottom and lose consciousness, authorities stated.

Wiggins was first charged with aggravated assault and easy assault however the fees have been upgraded after Charlton died on Sunday, 10 days after being hit.
