No charges for cop who shot meat-clever wielding resident in senior's apart…


No expenses shall be filed towards a cop in Chesilhurst, Camden County for capturing a disabled senior citizen’s condo resident within the leg after he approached him with a meat intelligent, the Camden County prosecutor stated Thursday.

Daniel McOsker, 60, didn’t maintain a life-threatening damage from the capturing. He was charged after the incident with two weapons offenses, terroristic threats and felony restraint. Two staff at B’nai B’rith Chesilhurst Home, the senior citizen residential facility the place the incident occurred, had referred to as police after they stated McOsker threatened them within the administration workplace with the meat cleaver.

An preliminary police report from the incident at four:forty one p.m. on Aug. 2 stated McOsker had held one of many staff captive at knife-level. 

The prosecutor dominated Thursday the responding officer was “legally justified” in capturing McOsker throughout his arrest. The officer was not recognized by authorities.

McOsker had returned to his third-flooring house when the officer arrived on scene. McOsker refused to give up and depart the condo, officers stated. The prosecutor stated surveillance cameras recorded the encounters within the administration workplace and the third-flooring hallway close to McOsker’s condo.

McOsker lastly exited the condominium crawling on his knees towards the officer. The patrolman shot him within the thigh when he raised the cleaver in shut proximity to the him, officers stated.

Officers later found McOsker was crawling as a result of he was disabled.
