FARMINGTON, Utah –A petition that goals to vary the mascot of a highschool being inbuilt Utah has already gained hundreds of signatures. The mascot would be the phoenix, a fowl that rises from the ashes in Greek Mythology, in response to KSTU.

The petition explains, when cheering for the staff, nobody will say “go, phoenix,’ and as an alternative use the plural type of phoenix, saying “go, phoenices.”

Some say that sounds quite a bit like part of the male anatomy.

The petition, began by Farmington resident Kyle Fraughton, goes on to say, “there will probably be a endless barrage of references to male anatomy directed at our youngsters.”

“I’ve youngsters that may go to this faculty and that is an enormous a part of it. I do not need it to be a joke. I do not need it to be a laughing inventory,” stated Fraughton.

Nevertheless, Jackson Carter and Celeste Burgoyne, seniors at Viewmont Excessive Faculty, assume the petition is the issue.

“We do use the mascots of their plural type however simply saying phoenix even sounds superb,” stated Burgoyne.

The spokesman for the Davis County Faculty District, Chris Williams appeared to agree.
