Woman indicted for vehicular homicide in fatal Hazlet crash


FREEHOLD — A grand jury Tuesday indicted a Keansburg lady for vehicular murder in a crash that killed a lady in Hazlet final yr, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Workplace stated.

On the morning of Sept. 28, 2016, Alexandra Mansonet, forty eight, hit a Toyota Corolla from behind together with her 2000 Mercedes as each automobiles have been heading south on Laurel Avenue in the direction of Sixth Road, authorities stated.

The Corolla was slowing down to permit pedestrians to cross within the crosswalk when Mansonet struck the car, authorities additionally stated. She was allegedly utilizing her cellular phone and never applied the brakes on her car.

The collision pushed the Corolla, which struck Yuwen Wang, 39. Wang was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, where she died of her injuries Oct. 3, 2016.

Mansonet faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Her arraignment has been scheduled for Dec. 4.
